The site is five blocks away from the Baychester Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Permits have been filed for a 15-story residential building at 1579 Bedford Avenue, also known as the Bedford Union Armory, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The site is three blocks away from the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains. Prospect Park is located just five blocks away. The development will create housing and a recreational center made affordable for community residents. Also included will be low-cost space for local non-profits, and a new medical facility for uninsured citizens of the city. The NYC Economic Development Corporation is behind the applications.
Applications filed with the DOB show that Flatbush is about to see a 14-story infill project rise at 2119 Caton Avenue, two blocks southeast of the Q Train’s Parkside Avenue stop. The New York City Economic Development Corporation filed for the permits, and Freeform+Deform will be designing the structure, which will be comprised of 11,792 square feet of commercial space, 18,990 square feet of community facility space, and 193,822 square feet of residential space, to be divided amongst 255 rental apartments. The Real Deal spoke with the EDC, and reported that the building will be all-affordable, with low, moderate, and middle-income tiers. Completion is expected by 2020, and Magnusson Architecture and Planning is the architect of record.
Ferrara Brothers is planning to begin construction later this year on a new concrete production facility at 740 Third Avenue, located between 23rd and 24th streets in Sunset Park. The New York City Economic Development Corporation selected the Ferrara Brothers to utilize the 102,247-square-foot waterfront industrial site.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation and the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation have launched a request for proposals (RFP) for five development sites located within the Amusement District between West 10th and 16th streets in Coney Island. The city is seeking a development team to build new attractions, rides and entertainment outlets on the sites, Commercial Observer reported. The five properties, all of which are currently vacant, combine to measure a total 150,000 square feet. Proposals are due March 17 and the city anticipates new attractions on the sites will be open for the summer of 2018.
