No little building in Williamsburg is safe from redevelopment. Yesterday’s filings brought a new building application for 310 Graham Avenue, where a seven-story apartment building is in the works.
An LLC has filed applications for a five-story, five-unit residential building measuring 6,150 square feet at 2168 83rd Street, in southern Borough Park. Kenneth Thomas is designing, and an existing 2.5-story wood-framed structure must first be demolished.
The changes occurring in Downtown Brooklyn are among the largest in any neighborhood in New York City, and the latest photos by Tectonic show the first two CityPoint towers topping out, and the Avalon Willoughby Square reaching for its final floors. With both projects nearing completion, the focus of construction in the neighborhood will soon shift to the southeast for an even more impressive round two.
Two weeks ago, YIMBY revealed this design for an expansion at 555 Grand Street in Williamsburg, and now we have the rendering for another addition down the block, at 629 Grand Street between Leonard Street and Manhattan Avenue. Plans were filed last year to expand the four-story, mixed-use building to five stories and add four apartments to its existing three units.
Plans were filed yesterday to build a six-story supportive housing development for veterans at 984 Woodycrest Avenue, in the Highbridge section of the southwestern Bronx. CMC Development Group posted this image on their website of the project, which will apparently be clad in red brick on the upper floors and gray brick on the ground floor.
