New renderings have been released for Era, a 20-story residential building at 251 West 91st Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by ODA and developed by Adam America Real Estate and Northlink Capital, the property is located at the corner of West 91st Street and Broadway and will yield 57 units in one- to five-bedroom layouts ranging from 887 square feet to 3,524 square feet. Reuveni Real Estate is leading sales and marketing for the homes, which will cost between $1,625,000 to $11,250,000.
Work is complete on Elizabeth H. Berger Plaza in the Financial District, and the newly built park is now open to the public. Designed by landscape architect George Vellonakis, the project involved the reconfiguration of streets to create a more pedestrian-friendly plaza, and is named in honor of the late Downtown Alliance president Elizabeth Berger. The green space is bound by Greenwich Street to the west, Edgar Street to the north, and Trinity Place to the east.
Construction has begun on the new superstructure for 1568 Broadway, a 470-foot-tall hotel in Times Square. Designed by PBDW Architects, Mancini Duffy, and Perkins Eastman and developed by L&L Holding Company, Maefield Development, and Fortress Investment Group, the project involved the partial demolition of the former DoubleTree Suites by Hilton to make way for the new 550,000-square-foot tower, which will be dubbed TSX Broadway. The overhaul also includes the raising of Kirchoff & Rose’s 108-year-old Palace Theater by 30 feet to make room for ground-floor retail space. The site is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street to the east of the red TKTS stairs, and is slated to cost $2.5 billion.
Façade work is getting closer to completion on 145 West 47th Street, a 48-story RIU Hotel in Times Square. Designed by Berg + Moss Architects and developed by Tribeach Holdings, the 353,000-square-foot edifice is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues and will yield a total of 630 guest rooms.
YIMBY spotted a new batch of renderings and diagrams that depict Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s upcoming ground-up mixed-use supertall at 175 Park Avenue, aka Project Commodore. The 83-story Midtown East, Manhattan behemoth is slated to rise on the site of the Grand Hyatt between the 108-year old Beaux Arts style Grand Central Terminal and the 91-year-old Art Deco style Chrysler Building at the corner of East 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue. RXR Realty and TF Cornerstone are developing the massive structure, which also appears to have gotten a height reduction to 1,486 feet tall, as opposed to the 1,646-foot tall architectural height previously intended. Inside will be 500 Hyatt hotel rooms on the upper floors spanning 453,000 square feet; 10,000 square feet of retail space on the ground, cellar, and second levels; new elevated, publicly accessible plaza space overlooking the surrounding Midtown neighborhood; and 2.1 million square feet of Class A office space.
