Brearley School Planning 10-Story Academic Building At 70 East End Avenue, Upper East Side

The Brearley School, a private all-girls prep school on the Upper East Side, is planning an expansion at 70-74 East End Avenue. Three five-story tenement buildings are set to be razed to make-way for an eight- to ten-story academic building measuring 75,000 to 85,000 square feet, according to Bloomberg Business. The school is currently in the process of receiving financing, and construction is expected to start in early 2017.

Excavation Begins On 44-Story Mixed-Use Building At 29-26 Northern Boulevard, Long Island City

Back in 2014, YIMBY revealed renderings of Simon Baron Development’s planned 44-story, 467-unit mixed-use tower at 29-26 Northern Boulevard, in Long Island City, and now excavation has begun, per The Court Square Blog. The building, dubbed QE7, will measure 382,120 square feet, which includes 13,580 square feet of retail space on the first and second floors. SBJ Group is designing, and completion is expected by the summer of 2018.

Four-Story, Four-Family Building Filed At 108 West 123rd Street, Harlem

Christian Volkmann has filed applications for a four-story, four-unit residential building at the vacant, 20-foot-wide lot at 108 West 123rd Street, in central Harlem. The building will measure 4,745 square feet, which works out to full-floor units averaging 1,185 square feet, indicative of condominiums. The developer also appears to be the architect, head of Aardvarchitecture.


35-39 101st Street

Three Stories, Six Residential Units Coming To 35-39 101st Street, North Corona

In addition to seven new building applications filed on Monday for two-family residential projects in eastern Queens, stretching from Flushing to JFK, one developer is planning a denser development at 35-39 101st Street, in North Corona, a few blocks north of the 103rd St – Corona Plaza stop on the 7 train. Patricio Lopez is planning six residential units across two three-story buildings. The residential units, averaging 1,027 square feet, will be split evenly between the two buildings. Suresh Manchanda’s L&C Associates is the applicant of record. Demolition permits were filed in June to remove the existing two-story, single-family home.
