Construction has topped out on The Huron, a pair of 13-story residential towers at 29 Huron Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Quadrum Global, the structures rise from a multi-story podium and will yield 171 condominium units in studio to four-bedroom layouts and 30,000 square feet of amenities. Ryan Serhant of SERHANT is leading sales and marketing for the property, which is bound by Green Street to the north, Huron Street to the south, West Street to the east, and the East River to the west.

Foundations Underway for Three-Tower Development at 2-20 and 2-21 Malt Drive in Hunters Point, Queens

Excavation and foundation work are progressing at 2-20 and 2-21 Malt Drive, the site of a three-tower mixed-use complex in the Hunters Point South master plan in Hunters Point, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by TF Cornerstone, the project consists of a 34-story, 390-foot-tall structure yielding 575 units at 2-20 Malt Drive and a two-tower development at 2-21 Malt Dive with a 38-story, 440-foot-tall high-rise and 25-story, 310-foot-tall sibling. The unit count for 2-21 Malt Drive has not been disclosed. Bud North LLC and Bud South LLC are the contractors for 2-21 and 2-20 Malt Creek, respectively, which will rise from a subdivided plot bound by 54th Avenue to the north, Newton Creek to the south, and 2nd Street to the west.

Construction Rises on Domino Sugar Refinery Redevelopment at 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Construction is rising on the The Refinery, a commercial conversion and expansion of the 140-year-old Domino Sugar Refinery at 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU) and developed by Two Trees, the $250 million project will convert the former manufacturing plant into a modern office complex while preserving the structure’s historic brick façade, arched windows, and chimney. The Refinery will stand 235 feet tall and feature a new 27,000-square-foot barrel-vaulted glass dome for a penthouse office space, as well as fully rebuilt interiors by Dencityworks and Bonetti/Kozerski, new landscaping and outdoor seating surrounding the ground floor, and reworked Domino Sugar signage above the roofline. The development is the centerpiece of the Domino Sugar master plan by SHoP Architects and James Corner Field Operations and is located to the west of Kent Avenue between South 2nd and South 3rd Streets.

Cusanelli and Filletti Architects and developed by Rimani Realty, the 108-foot-tall structure will yield 32,642 square feet with 27 residential units spread across 20,213 square feet, as well as 2,681 square feet of commercial area, enclosed parking space for three vehicles, and a restaurant space on the ground floor. All State 12 is the general contractor for the property, which is located on a triangular plot at the intersection of Commercial and Clay Streets.

77-87 Commercial Street’s Façade Reaches Final Floors in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Façade installation is moving along on 77-87 Commercial Street, a 30- and 40-story two-tower development along Newtown Creek in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Clipper Equity, the 811,000-square-foot project will yield 520 units with 298 in the taller tower and the remaining 222 in the shorter sibling. Of the total inventory, 200 homes are designated as affordable housing. The pair of 331- and 429-foot tall superstructures rise from a seven-story podium with a 300-vehicle parking garage below grade. Ray Builders is the general contractor, Hatfield Group is the façade consultant, RC Structures is pouring the concrete, and WSP is the structural engineer for the complex, which is located at the confluence of Commercial and Box Streets.
