Downtown Jamaica is finally recovering, and small projects like this six-story mixed-use building planned at 172-18 Jamaica Avenue signal the return of new development.
The property owner, Alexei Petrikov, of the vacant lot at 4220 Beach 42nd Street, in Sea Gate, has filed applications for a three-story, two-unit residential building measuring 3,720 square feet. Sergey Mozer, of SM Architect PLLC, is designing the project.
The last year has been somewhat tumultuous for 319 Schermerhorn Street, which was originally set to be developed a mysterious “SC Nevins LLC.” In April, it was announced that Adam America and the Naveh Shuster Group purchased the site, likely for over $30 million, and with the new ownership comes a new design, which YIMBY can now reveal thanks to a watchful tipster.
The developer behind an eight-story apartment building at 21-42nd Road near Queensboro Plaza in Long Island City has posted new renderings for the project, which YIMBY first revealed a year ago.
In December, YIMBY revealed plans and possible renderings for a 51-story tower at 281 Fifth Avenue, and now permits have been filed for the high-rise condo development at the corner of 30th Street.
