DNAinfo reports BFC Partners have broken ground this week on Empire Outlets, a 100-store mall at 35 Richmond Terrace, in St. George. The development will also include an 11-story, 190-unit mixed-use hotel and residential building, and the entire project will total 443,000 square feet. DNAinfo also broke news of the mall’s most recently signed tenants; Applebee’s, Gap, and White House Black Market will together take 100,000 square feet, joining H&M and Nordstrom Rack.
EV Grieve has noticed Vinbaytel Property Development’s seven-story, seven-condo-unit mixed-use building is wrapping up construction at 67 Avenue C, in the East Village. The façade has been installed, and the building will also includes a commercial unit for a retail tenant. Opening is scheduled for this summer.
SL Green Realty has filed applications for a four-story, 6,020 square-foot commercial building — rising 57 feet tall — at 719 7th Avenue, in Midtown’s Theater District. The job description states the building will be solely for retail, and will feature signage above the roof. TPG Architecture is designing, and the existing three-story building was approved for demolition back in December.
Per The Real Deal, the Salvation Army has sold the development site spanning 176-180 Bedford Avenue, in northern Williamsburg, to Thor Equities for $36.1 million, which equates to $2,500 per square-foot. The site boasts 14,400 square feet of building potential, and undisclosed construction plans will almost surely include a large retail component.
