YIMBY Scopes Views From Flatiron House at 39 West 23rd Street in Flatiron District, Manhattan

YIMBY went on a tour of Flatiron House, a two-tower residential development at 39 West 23rd Street in the Flatiron District. Designed by COOKFOX Architects for NYC-based real estate development firm Anbau Enterprises, the structure will yield 44 condominium units with sales and marketing led by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. The taller portion of Flatiron House is called the Tower and features 37 one- to four-bedroom homes with an entrance on West 23rd Street, while the shorter annex is dubbed the Loft and comes with seven one- to five-bedroom residences and its own entrance to the north on 24th Street. Ryder Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

Stern Architects and developed by Related Companies, the 300-foot-tall structure will yield 144 condominium units in two- to five-bedroom layouts with interiors by Olson Kundig, as well as a series of penthouses. Related Sales and CORE Group are the exclusive co-sales and marketing agents for the property, which is located at the confluence of Eleventh Avenue and West Street, between West 22nd and West 23rd Streets.

Demolition work is ramping up for PENN 15, a 56-story, 1,200-foot commercial supertall at 15 Penn Plaza in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Foster + Partners and developed by Vornado Realty Trust, the 2.7 million-square-foot tower will replace the aging Hotel Pennsylvania and stand as the tallest component in the 7.4 million-square-foot Penn District master plan. 401 Hotel Reit is the owner and Northstar Contracting Group is the demolition contractor for the property, which is bound by Seventh Avenue to the west, West 32nd Street to the south, and West 33rd Street to the north.

Foundations Near Completion at 312 West 43rd Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Foundation work is almost complete at 312 West 43rd Street, the site of a two-building residential development in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Taconic Partners under the 311 West 42nd Street Associates LLC, the 373,133-square-foot project comprises a 33-story tower and seven-story extension with a shared podium. The complex will yield 321 apartments averaging 839 square feet apiece as well as 25,202 square feet of retail space on the lower floors. Triton Construction is serving as the general contractor for the property, which is located between West 42nd and 43rd Streets and Eighth and Ninth Avenues, directly north of the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
