The Brownsville Arts Center and Apartments will become the first of three developments included in a $1 billion infrastructure and affordable housing plan to reshape and invigorate the Brownsville, Brooklyn community. The site is on Rockaway Avenue and Chester Street.
Permits have been pre-filed for a 19-story high-rise at 65 Franklin Street in Tribeca, Manhattan. The site is right on the corner of Franklin and Broadway, less than five blocks from the 1, 2, 6, N, Q, R, W, J, and Z trains, and seven blocks from the City Hall Park. Monzer Khafagy of HAP Investments is listed as the project executive responsible for the development.
A new 11-story building is about to rise on the Upper East Side, between East 74th Street & East 75th Street, along York Avenue. Permits for 1402 York Avenue were issued last month to begin construction on the new affordable housing structure, which will have a masonry and glass facade. The developer of the project is Crest Group.
Permits have been approved for the enlargement of 60 Charlton Street, which will yield a 12-story retail and office building in the Hudson Square neighborhood of Manhattan. The building was formerly known as 163 Varick Street. Kenneth Aschendorf of APF Properties is responsible for the development, after purchasing the lot for $65 million in July 2017.
Permits have been filed for two 12-story buildings at 212 and 224 West 124th Street in Harlem, Manhattan. The site is in the heart of Harlem, near Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, and three blocks from the 125th Street subway station with the A, B, C, and D trains. Moses Strulowtiz of the CS Real Estate Group is behind the applications.
