Installation of the curtain wall has begun on the lower podium floors of 145 West 47th Street, as the reinforced concrete superstructure continues to rise above the streets of Times Square. Designed by Berg + Moss Architects and developed by Tribeach Holdings, the 27-story building that will eventually house a 343-room RIU Hotel. 145 West 47th Street is expected to yield 141,500 square feet of newly built space.

Work is wrapping up on 220 Central Park South, number ten on YIMBY’s countdown of the tallest skyscrapers rising in the city. The 950-foot-tall, 67-story tower is designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and contains 593,000 square feet of residential space that overlooks Central Park and Columbus Circle. Vornado Realty Trust is the developer of the $1.4-billion-dollar project and expects a $3.4 billion sellout. SLCE Architects is the executive architect, while Thierry W. Despont is designing the building’s interiors.

Located between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue,the slim reinforced concrete superstructure will eventually open as a 161-room Hilton Grand Vacation Hotel. Handel Architects is the designer, while Hidrock Realty is the developer of the property.

Construction Activity Resumes at Three Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards

Work appears to have resumed at Three Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards, the 11th-tallest project under construction in New York in YIMBY’s annual countdown. Work on the foundations of the planned 940-foot-tall office skyscraper stalled in 2019 while the scope and architectural form of the structure underwent several revisions. However, activity was recently spotted at the southern end of the property, where a small group of workers are currently forming the final section of the reinforced concrete foundation wall. The 53-story project is designed by FXCollaborative and being developed by Moinian Group.

Two Manhattan West Prepares For Imminent Ascent, in Midtown

Work is ramping up at the site of Two Manhattan West, a forthcoming 935-foot-tall commercial skyscraper and number 12 on YIMBY’s countdown of the tallest projects underway in the city. The final component of the Manhattan West complex, the 58-story tower will join its nearly identical sibling One Manhattan West, though it will cap off with a slightly shorter parapet. Skidmore Owings & Merrill is the designer and Brookfield is the developer of the two-million-square-foot project.
