Gene Kaufman-Designed Hotel Tops Out at 305 West 48th Street, in Hell’s Kitchen

The firm Gene Kaufman Architect is responsible for the design of 305 West 48th Street, a new 211-room hotel in Midtown’s Hell’s Kitchen. Located between Eighth and Ninth Avenue, the 27-story skyscraper rises along the fringe of tall skyscrapers between Times Square and the Hudson River, topping out at 303 feet. Glass is being installed on the southern elevation and the reinforced concrete walls will soon be covered in vibrant hues of red and yellow bricks. YIMBY last reported that Bright Management, Inc. is listed as the developer. The Rockwell Group is designing the interiors and amenities.

YIMBY recently visited the newly-completed 43-story residential building dubbed Summit, at 222 East 44th Street, in the Midtown neighborhood of Turtle Bay. The tower was designed by Handel Architects and developed by BLDG Management. Leasing and marketing for the 429 residences, which range from studios to three-bedroom units, is being led by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing. FXCollaborative’s 77 Greenwich Street Tops Out at 42 Stories, in the Financial District

YIMBY recently went on a hard-hat tour of 77 Greenwich Street with Daniel Kaplan, senior partner at FXCollaborative. The reinforced concrete skyscraper is closing in on its final floors and will soon top out 42 stories and 500 feet high above the Financial DistrictTrinity Place Holdings is the developer of the mixed-use residential project. There will be 90 condominiums ranging from one- to four-bedroom layouts with interiors by Deborah Berke Partners, as well as a grade school and retail space in the 150-foot-tall podium section. The landmark exterior of the Robert and Anne Dickey House will be included in the school.

Bryan Cho of Related Companies is listed as the owner behind the applications. In 2017, Spitzer Enterprises and Related Companies announced a partnership to develop a two-tower, 1.4-million-square-foot project at that site.
