New Renderings Released of Alvaro Siza’s Condo Tower at 611 West 56th Street, in Hell’s Kitchen

New renderings have been released for the upcoming 37-story condominium tower 611 West 56th Street, aka 823 Eleventh Avenue. The first project in the United States for Portuguese architect Alvaro Size, the white limestone-clad structure will rise 440 feet tall and contain 80 units. The rectangular site is located at the corner of West 56th Street and Eleventh Avenue and is being developed by Sumaida + Khurana and LENY.

YIMBY Takes in the Rising Skyline From Atop 53 West 53rd Street, in Midtown

YIMBY recently went on a hard hat tour of the upper floors of Jean Nouvel’s 53 West 53rd Street residential skyscraper. The uniquely tapered diagrid structure is topped out at 1,050 feet with the façade almost entirely installed. The supertall is being developed by Hines, while SLCE Architects and Adamson Associates are the architects of record. The condominiums are being marketed by Corcoran Sunshine.

Excavation Begins at 199 Chrystie Street on the Lower East Side

Excavation is beginning at 199 Chrystie Street for what will become a 14-story, 39,188 square-foot condominium tower with full-floor residences. R. Wade Johnson Design is listed as the architect of record for the the development, which is located on the Lower East Side near the corner of Chrystie Street and Stanton Street. KD Sagamore Capital is the owner and developer, and purchased the property for $20 million. The site was previously occupied by two buildings, 199 and 201 Chrystie Street, whose demolition was completed earlier this year.
