Exterior work is continuing to progress on The Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation, a 203,000-square-foot addition to the American Museum of Natural History at 415 Columbus Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang with Davis Brody Bond as the executive architect, Buro Happold as the MEP/FP/ facade consultant, Pentagram designing signage, Arup as the structural engineer, acoustical and audio visual consultants, Tamschick Media + Space with Boris Micka Associates doing the theater design, Renfro Design Group in charge of lighting, and Tishman Construction Company of New York as the general contractor, the amorphous reinforced concrete superstructure is being built by the intersection of Columbus Avenue and West 79th Street. The project is projected to cost around $383 million and the museum is aiming for LEED Gold certification.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for Sendero Verde Phase I, a 15-story building at 60 East 112th Street and a ten-story building at 75 East 111th Street in East Harlem, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by L+M Development Partners, Jonathan Rose Companies, and Acacia Network, the Sendero Verde complex will yield nearly 700 residences when all phases are complete, along with numerous outdoor green spaces and community facility space for social services. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 324 units for residents at 30 to 110 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $15,806 to $162,800.
Exterior work is wrapping up on 212 West 93rd Street, a 14-story condominium building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Eran Chen, head of ODA, and developed by Landsea Homes and Leyton Properties, the 65,000-square-foot structure will yield 20 residential units designed by GRADE New York and marketed by Compass. Homes are expected to range from one- to four-bedroom layouts, including some full-floor penthouses. 212 West 93rd Street will also contain space for the Shaare Zedek Synagogue, which will have its own entrance on the first floor of the edifice. The Vorea Group is the general contractor for the property, located near the corner of Broadway and West 93rd Street.
Façade work is making progress on 2330 Broadway, an 18-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Welltower, Inc. and Hines, the reinforced concrete structure will yield 162 residences spread across 109,315 square feet, for an average of 674 square feet apiece. The property will offer supportive programming with a focus on memory care, and half of the units will be reserved for seniors with memory and cognitive disorders. Broadway 85 LLC is the owner and Hunter Robert Construction Group is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 85th Street.
Exterior work is nearing completion on 2505 Broadway, a 19-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by ODA and developed by Adam America Real Estate, the 75,000-square-foot reinforced concrete structure will yield 44 residential units in one- to four-bedroom layouts, many with private outdoor terraces. Ariel Tirosh and Douglas Elliman Development Marketing are the exclusive sales and marketing agents for project, which is located near the corner of Broadway and West 93rd Street.
