Final Design For 11-Story, 233-Unit Mixed-Use Project Planned At 149 East 125th Street, East Harlem

It appears the final design has been fully revealed for the 11-story, 233-unit mixed-use building under development at 149 East 125th Street, a.k.a. 146 East 126th Street, on the northern end of East Harlem. A groundbreaking ceremony has also been held for the project, dubbed Gotham East 126th Residential, Curbed NY reported. The latest building permits indicate it will encompass 275,566 square feet and rise 120 feet to the roof, not including the bulkhead.

Five-Building, 740-Unit Mixed-Use Project To Replace Detention Center At 1221 Spofford Avenue, Hunts Point

A development team has been selected by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to build a five-building, 740-unit mixed-use project at the site of the abandoned Spofford Juvenile Detention Center. The facility, spread across five acres, is located at 1221 Spofford Avenue, in the South Bronx’s Hunts Point section. The development team comprises of Gilbane Development Company, the Hudson Companies, and Mutual Housing Association of New York.

Two Three-Story, Two-Unit Mixed-Use Buildings Planned At 18-35 College Point Boulevard, College Point

An anonymous Elmhurst firm has filed applications for two three-story, two-unit mixed-use buildings at 18-35 – 18-39 College Point Boulevard, located along the main commercial corridor in College Point. The buildings will measure 6,502 square feet and 5,089 square feet, respectively. Between the two, there will be a total 3,066 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The full-floor residential units on the second and third floors should average 1,375 square feet apiece, which suggests condominiums are likely in the works.


991 Castleton Avenue

Two Two-Story, 8,000-Square-Foot Commercial Buildings Filed At 991 Castleton Avenue, West New Brighton

Staten Island-based DDSS Realty LLC has filed applications for two two-story, 8,031-square-foot commercial buildings at 991-997 Castleton Avenue, in West New Brighton, along Staten Island’s North Shore. Across both buildings, there will be a total 7,264 square feet of commercial space. The project will contain a mix of retail, office, and warehouse spaces. Staten Island-based Design Build Staten Island is the architect of record. The 11,062 square-foot site is vacant.
