The site is four blocks away from the Williams Bridge train station, serviced by Metro North. Six blocks away is the 205^th Street subway station, serviced by the D trains. The project will also be nearby the notable Woodlawn Cemetery, an expansive collection of some of the most ornate mausoleums and tombstones in the city. UA Builders Group will be responsible for the development.

Permits have been filed for a ten-story residential building at 3187 Grand Concourse in Norwood, The Bronx. Four blocks away is the Mosholu Parkway Subway Station, serviced by the 4 train. A hotel boom is taking over the Bronx. Today we noticed plans for a hotel in the northwestern corner of the Bronx, in a working class neighborhood called Norwood. The six-story commercial building would rise at 3466 Webster Avenue, right next to the Williamsbridge stop on the Metro North train.

Four-Story, 35-Key Hotel Planned at 3336 Webster Avenue, Norwood

Bronx-based Ultimate Seven LLC has filed applications for a four-story, 35-key hotel at 3336 Webster Avenue, in the West Bronx’s Norwood section. The project will measure a compact 10,193 square feet and its hotel rooms should average a budget-sized 283 square feet apiece. Guest amenities include a 704-square-foot lobby, 11 off-street parking spaces, a fitness center, a business meeting room, and a breakfast area. Asher Hershkowitz’s Brooklyn-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 5,100-square-foot site is vacant and stretches 144 feet along Webster Avenue. The Williams Bridge station on Metro-North Railroad is a block to the north.

Developer Refiles For 11-Story, 118-Unit Mixed-Use Building At 3084 Webster Avenue, Norwood

In October of 2015, YIMBY reported on applications for an 11-story, 116-unit residential building at 3084 Webster Avenue, in Norwood, located six blocks from the Norwood – 205th Street stop on the D train. The Department of Buildings disapproved the applications last November and the developer, Stagg Group, has now filed applications for a slightly larger project with Midtown-based Marin Architects, a different architecture firm than before. The latest plans call for an 11-story, 118-unit mixed-use building which would encompass 133,845 square feet in total, roughly 20,000 square feet larger than the previous filing. There will be 4,325 square feet of retail space and 3,185 square feet of community facility space on the ground floor. The apartments above should average a family-sized 1,008 square feet apiece, and 20 percent of them will rent at below-market rates. A two-story warehouse in the back of the site assemblage must first be demolished.

Stagg Group Plans Another in the Bronx: 3084 Webster Avenue, Norwood

After 50,000 tenants applied to live in the affordable apartments at Stagg Group’s first project in Norwood, Bedford Park Manor, the Bronx developer paid $4.1 million for a property only a few blocks north at 3084 Webster Avenue. Now they’ve filed plans to build an 11-story apartment building on the L-shaped lot between 202nd and 203rd Streets.

Six years ago, the city upzoned a quiet, largely vacant stretch of Webster Avenue next to Woodlawn Cemetery to allow the construction of a large affordable housing development, Webster Commons. Some of the buildings have already started renting through the city’s housing lottery process, but new building applications were filed yesterday for another piece of the project at 3620 Webster Avenue.
