New building applications were filed today for a six-story development at 2414a Atlantic Avenue, between Sackman Street and East New York Avenue.

Developer Acquires 2440 Fulton Street, Site With Commercial Potential, Ocean Hill

Abe Leser’s Mapleton Group has acquired the two-story, 115,000 square-foot commercial building at 2440 Fulton Street, in Ocean Hill — within walking distance of Broadway Junction and LIRR’s East New York station — for $33 million. The property has 40,000 square feet of available air rights, but could accommodate a new commercial building of 155,000 square feet if demolished. Plans for the site have not yet been disclosed, according to The Real Deal.

Prospect Plaza Affordable Housing Rises in Ocean Hill

Fifteen years ago, the city emptied out the block-long Prospect Plaza housing project in Ocean Hill, Brooklyn, promising to redevelop and move the 1,500 former residents back in. Last year, NYCHA finally demolished the four dilapidated apartment towers and began construction on 364 units of affordable housing. YIMBY recently stopped by the site on Park and Prospect Places between Saratoga and Howard Avenues. Phase 1 of the development has taken shape on the north side of Prospect Place, and windows are already going in on both buildings.
