Last month, YIMBY reported on permits for three lots, at 578, 580, and 582nd East 138th Street, in Mott Haven, The Bronx. Now, we have the renderings by OMF Architect PC. The façade uses a simple design scheme with contrasts of white, black, and gray to cleanly articulate its shape.
A furniture warehouse in the Bronx is about to be replaced by three new five-story apartment buildings. Permits have been filed for 578 and 580 East 138th Street with identical specifications, and the site’s developer has told YIMBY that another building is also in the works at 582 East 138th Street. Shalev Shoshani of 138 S&H Realty Corp is developing the project, which will bring 24 apartments to Mott Haven. All three structures will stand 56 feet tall, with a total combined area of 22,500 square feet. That space is divided between 6,300 square feet of commercial retail on the first floor, and 16,400 square feet of residential space on floors two through five. OMF Architect PC is responsible for the design, and demolition permits were filed at the end of August.
An anonymous Hell’s Kitchen-based LLC has filed applications for a nine-story, 31-key hotel at 444 East 149th Street, located in the South Bronx’s Mott Haven section near the area known as The Hub. The building will encompass 20,226 square feet. There will be 760 square feet of medical offices on part of the ground floor, followed by hotel rooms across the rest of the building. Oscar M. Fuertes’s Huntington, N.Y.-based firm is the architect of record. The 25-foot-wide, 2,600-square-foot plot is occupied by a three-story townhouse. Demolition permits have not been filed.
Brooklyn-based Agora Development Group has filed applications for a five-story, five-unit residential building at 210 Jackson Street, in northern Williamsburg. The project will measure 6,066 square feet and its full-floor apartments should average 1,000 square feet apiece, indicative of condominiums. Oscar M. Fuertes’s Huntington, N.Y.-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 2,500-square-foot lot is occupied by a two-story townhouse. Demolition permits were filed in December.
An anonymous Queens-based LLC has filed applications for a four-story, 10-unit residential building at 157 Beach 96th Street, in Seaside. That’s a neighborhood along the Rockaways in southern Queens. The project will measure 10,548 square feet and its residential units should average 987 square feet apiece, which means the units could either be rentals or condominiums. There will be a total of eight off-street parking spaces. Oscar M. Fuertes’s Bayside-based OMF Architecture is the architect of record. The 50-foot-wide, 5,000-square-foot property is currently vacant. A two-story house occupied the site until July. The Beach 98th Street stop on the A train and Rockaway Park Shuttle is two blocks away.
