YIMBY Visits 277 Fifth Avenue As Façade Nears Completion

Construction at 277 Fifth Avenue is moving along quickly, with just thirteen floors of façade installation remaining. Victor Group and Lendlease are developing the 55-story skyscraper in NoMad, on the corner of 30th Street. The tower, designed by Rafael Vinoly Architects, has a dark-indigo façade made of reinforced cast-concrete panels, fabricated in Finland. Multi-layered glazed curtain walls were designed for optimal thermal and acoustical performance, and there is also a cantilever over its southern neighbor.

YIMBY Tours Waterline Square as Completion Nears, Upper West Side

Façade installation is coming to an end for Waterline Square, a five-acre project overlooking the Hudson River. The three towers are being constructed simultaneously so that residents will have the benefit of moving into a finished mini-neighborhood inside the Upper West Side. Once complete, a lush public space will unite the residential buildings and retail center, containing several eateries. GID Development Group is responsible for the venture.

Viñoly-Designed 277 Fifth Avenue Officially Tops Out At 55 Floors and 663 Feet in NoMad

The Rafael Viñoly-designed 277 Fifth Avenue, in NoMad, has officially topped out. Our last look at the tower was on December 26th, 2017, when we were given a tour of the sales gallery and the 46th floor, which at that time, was the highest level. With the superstructure now spanning its full 55 stories, about twenty floors of cladding remain before the exterior is complete.

Rooftop Views & Interior Update on Supertall 175 Greenwich Street, aka 3 World Trade Center, As Opening Day Approaches

Last week, YIMBY was taken on a tour of 175 Greenwich Street, aka 3 World Trade Center, visiting the rooftop, the terrace, and the lobby. The building, located in the heart of the Financial District, has made incredible progress, with the façade now complete save for windows connected to the exterior hoist. Interior work is also approaching the finish line.

Viñoly’s Jetsons-Esque Skyscraper at 249 East 62nd Street Revealed, Upper East Side

Rafael Viñoly has become one of the more prominent designers of Manhattan’s residential real estate in recent years, and today, YIMBY has the first rendering for the architect’s latest skyscraper, at 249 East 62nd Street on the Upper East Side. While the tower will technically comprise only 32 floors, it will stand 510 feet to its rooftop, taking advantage of a Jetsons-esque podium to boost its upper levels high into the neighborhood skyline.
