Within the last few weeks, new details emerged of the planned eight-story, 60-unit mixed-use building being developed at 98-02 Queens Boulevard, in Rego Park, and now DNAinfo has a rendering of the project. As reported previously, the 75,000 square-foot structure will contain rental units that come in one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations. The apartments will average 657 square feet apiece, and amenities include a gym, an indoor pool, a children’s playground, and bike storage. The entire ground floor will be retail and 7,000 square feet of community facility space, in the form of medical offices, will be located on the level above. Demolition of the existing retail structure is expected in the spring and completion is slated for late 2017. Bahar Corporation is developing and Peter Casini Architect is behind the design.

The new building will encompass 75,000 square feet and will feature one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Retail will span the entire ground floor and 7,000 square feet of community space will be located on the first level. The residential units on the top seven floors will average 657 square feet apiece. George Baharestani’s Bahar Corporation is developing, and Forest Hills-based Peter Casini is the architect of record. The existing single-story retail building will be demolished in the spring once the remaining tenants have vacant the property. Demolition permits were filed last October. Completion is expected in the second half of 2017.
Late last year, YIMBY reported on applications for a seven-story, 23-unit mixed-use building at 97-30 64th Avenue, in Rego Park, two blocks from the subway stop at 63rd Drive on the M and R trains. Now, DNAinfo reports construction is underway, and a rendering has appeared at the site. The building will have condominiums, which will be on the smaller side, averaging 720 square feet. Community facility space will measure 4,000 square feet on the lower portion of the building. Rego Park-based Hang Chen, with CZK Realty LLC, are developing, and Flushing-based Tan Architect is designing.
Developer Kenny Liu has filed applications for a seven-story, 50-unit mixed-use building at 97-41 – 97-49 63rd Drive, in Rego Park, two blocks from the 63rd Drive/Rego Park stop on the M and R trains. The building will measure 53,209 square feet, which includes 11,929 square feet of health care facilities on the ground and second floor. The residential units will be condominiums and average 825 square feet apiece; two units will feature a eighth-floor penthouse. Angelo Ng + Anthony Ng Architects Studio is the architect of record, and permits were filed this past August to demolish five residential buildings.
