Almost a year after WeWork announced its $850 million acquisition of the Lord & Taylor Building, the Landmarks Preservation Commission will now review plans to renovate and refurbish the iconic site, which will eventually serve as WeWork’s new global headquarters.

The announcement arrives with new renderings from COOKFOX Architects revealing an industrial-textured office building comprised of concrete, exposed metal elements, and a sweeping series of factory-mullioned windows.
Rudin Management has nearly completed its modernization of lobby and entry areas at 55 Broad Street in Downtown Manhattan. Originally completed in 1967, the building’s new lobby, reception, and security areas are designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture.
Construction has finished at 78 West 3rd Street in Greenwich Village, where a pre-war, three-story townhouse received an extra floor and a horizontal extension. Permits call for a 2,997-square-foot commercial space on the lower levels. Five residential units take up 3,825 square feet on the floors above, averaging 765 square feet per unit.
