Liberty Science Center Moves Forward With Plans for SciTech Scity Academic Complex, Jersey City

The Liberty Science Center is moving forward with plans to develop an eight-story, 400,000-square-foot mixed-use academic complex on the 16-acre site at 222 Jersey City Boulevard, in Jersey City’s Liberty Harbor section. Dubbed SciTech Scity, it will include the Liberty Science K-12 school, which will likely consist of charter, vocational, and/or private schools, Jersey Digs reported. There will also be roughly 160,000 square feet of research and collaborative office space, called Edge Works.

Three-Story, Six-Unit Residential Building Planned at 1321 Richmond Road, Dongan Hills

A Staten Island-based property owner has filed applications for a three-story, six-unit residential building at 1321 Richmond Road in Dongan Hills, located along Staten Island’s East Shore. The project will measure 4,870 square feet and its residential units should average 812 square feet apiece. The apartments will be condominiums for persons 55 years old or older. There will also be 10 off-street parking spaces. Staten Island-based Rampulla Associates Architects is the architect of record. The 9,742-square-foot site is vacant. The Board of Standards and Appeals must approve the project.

New building applications for single and multi-family residential developments in New York City saw a major slowdown in 2016, as the fading boom following the changes that occurred at the Department of Buildings in 2014 began to slack further.
