Excavation Begins at 10 West 55th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Excavation has begun at 10 West 55th Street, the site of a 24-story residential building in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed Garden Homes under the 18 West 55th Street LLC, the 289-foot-tall structure will yield 152,689 square feet with 96 units spread across 134,980 square feet, 17,709 square feet of commercial space, and a cellar level. Garden Homes and co-developer and general contractor Skyline Developers purchased the property, which is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, for $75 million in 2019.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Atrium at Sumner Senior Housing, an 11-story residential building at 57 Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Studio Libeskind and developed in partnership by RiseBoro Community Partnership, Urban Builders Collaborative, and Selfhelp Realty Group, The Melamid Institute for Affordable Housing, NYCHA, the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and the NYC Housing Development Corporation, the structure yields 190 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 99 units for residents at 50 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $0 to $60,050.

Permits Filed for 28 Richardson Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Located between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street, the lot is near the Metropolitan Avenue-Lorimer Street subway station, serviced by the G and L trains. Yisroel Greenfeld is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Construction is progressing on The Keller, a residential project at 150 Barrow Street in Manhattan‘s West Village. Designed by BKSK Architects and developed by Aurora Capital, the project involves the construction of a new seven-story structure at 144 Barrow Street and the renovation of the former Keller Hotel, and will yield 24 condominium units in one- to four-bedroom layouts. Titanium Construction Services is the general contractor and Compass Development Marketing Group is handling sales and marketing for the property, which is located at the corner of Barrow and West Streets, directly across from Hudson River Park.

Exterior work is getting closer to completion on Claremont Hall, a 41-story residential tower at 100 Claremont Avenue in Morningside Heights, Manhattan. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and SLCE Architects and developed by Lendlease, Daiwa House Texas, and LMXD, an affiliate of L+M Development Partners, the 354,000-square-foot building will yield 165 condominium units in one- to four-bedroom layouts as well as new classrooms, office space, and faculty housing for Union Theological Seminary. Lendlease is the general contractor for the property, which is located by the corner of Claremont Avenue and West 122nd Street.

Finishing Touches Underway on 145 Perry Street Mega Mansion in Manhattan’s West Village

Construction is getting closer to completion on 145 Perry Street, a four-story private residence in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Leroy Street Studio with Robert Silman Associates Structural Engineers, the structure measures 30,000 square feet and replaces a former two-story parking garage. Sciame Construction is the construction manager for the property, which is alternately addressed as 703-711 Washington Street and is located at the corner of Perry and Washington Streets.

540 Hudson Street Nears Completion in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Exterior work is nearing completion on 540 Hudson Street, a seven-story residential building in Greenwich Village. The building was designed by Morris Adjmi Architects who received approval by the Landmarks Preservation Commission. BKSK Architects adapted the design and are nearing completion of the 63-foot-tall structure for developers Aurora Capital Associates and William Gottlieb Real Estate. Inside will be 19 units spread across 48,535 square feet as well as 6,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and cellar levels. Titanium Construction Services is the general contractor and Belden Tri-State Building Materials is the brick supplier for the property, which is also addressed as 111 Charles Street and is located at the corner of Hudson and Charles Streets.
