Six-Story, 163-Unit Residential Building Rises At 715 Jersey Avenue, Jersey City’s Hamilton Park

A six-story, 163-unit residential building is currently four stories up at 715 Jersey Avenue, in Jersey City’s Hamilton Park neighborhood, on 10th Street. According to The Jersey Journal, the building sits on a 12-foot embankment, where a railway once operated; Conrail abandoned the rail line back in 1995. Completion is expected next summer, and LeFrak is developing the project, dubbed Embankment House. The same developer is also planning an identical residential building a block to the west, between Coles and Mammoth Streets.

Since then, a six-story garage was demolished, and now foundation work is underway, per Curbed. The rental units — 20 percent of which will be let at below market rates — will spread across 343,187 square feet of space, with units averaging 922 square feet apiece. Fisher Brothers is developing, and Handel Architects is designing, with completion expected in 2017.

Interior Renderings Revealed for 160 West Street, aka The Gibraltar, in Greenpoint

Greenpoint’s current construction boom will soon yield a forest of new towers along the waterfront, but the neighborhood’s smaller infill development has also been significant. One such project in the latter category is 160 West Street, aka The Gibraltar, which has progressed quickly through the development pipeline, with permits first filed back in September of 2014. Early renderings were revealed by YIMBY in April, followed by a better look in June, and now we have interior images for the building.
