Six-Story Building At 39 Clarkson Street Seeks Condo Conversion & Expansion, West Village

Property owner Jeff Alexander and developer Summit Equities are planning to convert the six-story manufacturing building at 39 Clarkson Street, in the West Village, into nine condominiums. According to DNAinfo, three more stories will be added up top, and the cellar will be excavated to accommodate four parking spaces. A variance from the city is required for the conversion.

Property owner Gerald Bertuna has filed applications for a three-story, six-family residential building at the vacant lots of 1770-1774 61st Street, in northern Bensonhurst, two blocks north of the N train’s 18th Avenue stop. The building will measure a total 7,610 square feet, which means units will average 1,265 square feet. Douglas Pulaski’s Bricolage Designs is the architect of record.

Celine Mo, of Roystar Investment Corp., has filed applications for a five-story, three-unit residential building at 242 West 22nd Street, in eastern Chelsea. The building will measure 7,600 square feet, and units will definitely be condominiums, averaging a spacious 2,530 square feet. James Wagman Architects is the applicant of record, and the existing four-story, four-unit townhouse passed pre-demolition inspection earlier this month.
