Construction is nearing completion on 139 Bowery, a 14-story mixed-use residential building in the Bowery section of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Raymond Chan Architects and developed by Global Joint Venture, the structure was last reported to yield 16 rental units as well as ground-floor retail space, a 550-square-foot medical facility, and office space spanning floors two through five. Mandarin Enterprises is the general contractor for the property, which is located on a relatively narrow plot between Broome and Grand Streets.

Developers Break Ground at 499 Summit Avenue in Jersey City

Construction has commenced at 499 Summit Avenue, the site of a 53-story residential skyscraper in the Journal Square section of Jersey City. Led by Panepinto Properties and AJD Construction and designed by HLW International, the tower will contain 605 rental apartments, 3,200 square feet of retail space on the lower floors, and a parking garage. While the full amenity package has not been announced, renderings of the building reveal a roof deck above the podium level with a large communal terrace, outdoor lounge space, and planters. The development will also create a new public plaza.

Designed by Magnusson Architecture & Planning and developed in partnership by the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation and St. Nicks Alliance, the buildings are currently addressed as 652 Dekalb Avenue, 639 Dekalb Avenue, and 1187 Fulton Street.
