L & L Holding Company and Normandy Real Estate Partners will soon begin a large-scale renovation and revitalization of the historic Terminal Warehouse following unanimous approval by the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission. Designed in collaboration by COOKFOX Architects, the 1.2 million-square-foot facility located at 261 Eleventh Avenue in West Chelsea will be redeveloped to support a mix of office space, retail tenants, and restaurants.
Construction has topped out at West 14th Street, aka 531 Sixth Avenue, a 13-story mixed-use residential building designed by ODA Architecture. Gemini Rosemont is developing the 145-foot-tall project, which is located at the corner of Sixth Avenue and West 14th Street at the northern end of Greenwich Village. Whitehall Interiors is incharge of interior design.
Installation of the travertine stone and glass panels is continuing on the The XI, aka 76 Eleventh Avenue, Bjarke Ingels‘ twisting residential development along the Hudson River waterfront in Chelsea. The 36- and 26-story reinforced concrete towers stand immediately to the west of the High Line and contain a total of 236 condominiums and a 137-room Six Senses Hotel Resorts Spas, the first location in the United States. HFZ Capital Group is the developer of the 908,250-square-foot complex, while Omnibuild is in charge of the ongoing construction. Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing for the residences.
SHoP Architects‘ 111 West 57th Street recently reached another milestone as work has commenced on the installation of the transparent paneling on the supertall’s steel crown. This is the final major external component of the world’s most slender skyscraper, which is developed by JDS Development, Property Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners. The 1,428-foot-tall tower will contain 46 condominiums designed by Studio Sofield and marketed by Douglas Elliman.
Foundations for Gene Kaufman Architect‘s ten-story commercial office building at 76 Eighth Avenue are taking shape. Developed by Sang Lee, Noviprop, and Plus Development, the 35,000-square-foot, 120-foot-tall structure is located at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and West 14th Street on the border of the Meatpacking District and West Village neighborhoods.
