Lengthy proposals have been submitted to NYC’s Department of City Planning to establish a sprawling mixed-use building complex in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Located just north of the neighborhood’s world-famous boardwalk, the proposed development is comprised of 8 primary parcels and will require zoning amendments to permit the construction of the mid-rise, mixed-use buildings.
In late June, permits were filed for what will be the tallest structure in the Mount Eden neighborhood of The Bronx. Now, YIMBY has the exclusive reveal for the design of the 15-story building at 1331 Jerome Avenue, courtesy of GF55 Partners. The project will bring commercial, residential, and community facilities to the neighborhood.
Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use development at 38 West 8th Street, one block away from Washington Square Park. The site is off the beaten path for Greenwich Village, and the extant structure is not of noteworthy or particular beauty. Despite this, the odds are high this project will attract undeserved criticism from local rent-gouging homeowners fearful of any increase in neighborhood housing supply. Joseph Straus of the Straus Group is listed as responsible for the development.
YIMBY has a first look at yet another new five-story commercial-office building coming to Williamsburg, at 96 North 10th Street, located right in the hustle and bustle of the flourishing neighborhood. The site is just a block away from East River State Park, with panoramic views of Manhattan, and Smorgasbord on Saturdays. The Bedford Avenue L stop is five blocks away. Acme will be responsible for the development.
A new 21-story high-rise is expected to come to Jamaica, as reported by YIMBY yesterday. This is not uncommon for the Queens neighborhood, but 153-19 Jamaica Avenue will be different, and today we have the first renderings for the building. BFC Partners has told YIMBY that all 139 units of the project will let at affordable housing rates. The facilities will also include supportive facilities, managed by New Destiny Housing.
