Request for Proposals Launched for 250-Unit Mixed-Use Project at 90-02 168th Street, Jamaica

It was revealed in March that plans for a commercial-retail complex at 90-02 168th Street, in downtown Jamaica, had been abandoned, and that the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation (GJDC) would be releasing an updated request for proposals (RFP) for the site. An updated RFP is now available, DNAinfo reported. The GJDC is seeking a team to build a mixed-use project that would include roughly 75,000 square feet of retail space and at least 250 residential units. Between 10 to 20 percent of the apartments would be set aside for artists. A larger portion, which includes some (or possibly all) of the artists’ units, will be designated as affordable, renting at below-market rates through a lottery. Overall, the vacant, 99,500-square-foot site could accommodate up to 497,500 square feet of mixed-use development. Applications for the RFP are due December 2nd, and the project should be complete by 2019.


207 West 79th Street

13-Story, 19-Unit Mixed-Use Building Rises to Seventh Floor at 207 West 79th Street, Upper West Side

Construction is seven stories above street level on the 13-story, 19-unit mixed-use building under development at 207 West 79th Street, on the Upper West Side. The latest photo was posted by a user on the YIMBY Forums. The most recent building permits indicate the project will eventually measure 71,578 square feet and rise 158 feet, including the bulkhead. There will be 5,194 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. The residential units above, which will be condominiums, will range from two- to five-bedrooms, averaging 2,887 square feet apiece. Anbau Enterprises is the developer and Morris Adjmi Architects is behind the design, both inside and out. Completion is expected in the fall of 2017.



4511 Third Avenue

Ground Broken for Two-Building, 314-Affordable-Unit Mixed-Use Project at 4511 Third Avenue, Belmont

Over the summer, YIMBY revealed a rendering of the 11-story, 181-affordable-unit mixed-use building planned at 4511 Third Avenue, in the Belmont section of the Bronx. Details for separate 12-story, 133-affordable-unit mixed-use project down the street at 4439 Third Avenue were also included. The developers, SBS Health System, L+M Development Partners, and Hornig Capital Partners, have recently broken ground on the project. The new buildings will measure 294,207 square feet and 145,952 square feet, respectively.

New Renderings Show Tishman Speyer’s Residential Towers and Office Complex Under Development in Long Island City

As three residential skyscrapers begin their ascent skyward at 28-10 Jackson Avenue, in Long Island City, renderings for them have finally surfaced per the Wall Street Journal. The towers will stand 43, 45, and 53 stories, respectively, and will together encompass an enormous 1,687,776 square feet. There will be 1,900 residential units and 13,807 square feet of ground-floor retail space. In addition to a slew of amenities, the complex will sport a private 2.5-acre park in the center. Goldstein, Hill, & West Architects is behind the design. Tishman Speyer and H&R Real Estate Investment Trust are the developers.
