Three Multi-Story, Three-Family Residential Buildings Filed At 518 West 232nd Street, Riverdale

Flushing-based D&K Realty Development has filed applications for three three-story, three-family residential buildings at 518-522 West 232nd Street, on the southern end of Riverdale in the North Bronx. The square-footage of each building differs slightly, although the entire development will have 8,670 square feet of residential space. Across the buildings, units will average 963 square feet apiece, so either small condos or spacious rental apartments could be in the works. Flushing-based Michael Kang is the architect of record. The site is currently vacant, as its three-story predecessor was demolished back in 2007.

27-Unit Apartment Building Coming To 640 West 238th Street, Riverdale

Filed during the turn of the building code in 2014, more applications have been filed for a planned eight-story, 27-unit apartment building at 640 West 238th Street, in the southern, denser area of Riverdale. The building will have 20,205 square feet of residential space, and Shahriar Afshari is designing. The existing two-story, single-family structure passed pre-demolition inspection earlier this month.

Eight-Story, 68-Unit Rental Building To Rise at 3707 Blackstone Avenue, West Bronx

Abraham Strulovitch had originally filed applications in December, during the building code crunch, for a residential project at 3707 Blackstone Avenue, in the more built-up southern portion of Riverdale. Amendments to the plan now call for an eight-story, 68-unit residential building measuring 40,520 square feet, which will span 3707-3719 Blackstone Avenue and 620 West 238th Street. The average unit will fall just short of 600 square feet, likely indicating rentals, and Shahriar Afshari is designing. The site has been rid of its two-story predecessor, which sat dilapidated until its demise in 2014.
