The major renovation of lobby and entry areas within 55 Broad Street is now complete and New York YIMBY has exclusive new images from Rudin Management Company. The Financial District office building now features treatments such as marble walls, textured terrazzo flooring, and reflective ceilings to help magnify light within the entry space. Updated security features include electronic turnstiles, reception seating, and increased street-level visibility both from outside and within the building.
Rudin Management has nearly completed its modernization of lobby and entry areas at 55 Broad Street in Downtown Manhattan. Originally completed in 1967, the building’s new lobby, reception, and security areas are designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture.
Major progress has been made for Dock 72, a 16-story commercial office building rising in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Incredibly, it is the first ground-up office building to rise in Brooklyn since MetroTech in the 1980’s. The development is a joint venture with Rudin Management and Boston Properties, with WeWork co-developing and handling amenities. WeWork will occupy nearly a third of the building.
A 500,000-square-foot office building in the Flatiron District is getting some upgrades. 41 Madison Avenue, located between East 25th and 26th streets, was built by Samuel Rudin in 1972 and now the Rudin Management Company is renovating its public spaces, and YIMBY has the first renderings.
The amalgam of renovated St Vincent’s hospital buildings and handsome new brick that make up Greenwich Lane are slowly moving toward completion between West 11th Street, West 12th Street and Seventh Avenue. YIMBY toured the development and its supermarket-turned-sales office earlier this week, and lead architect Dan Kaplan from FXFOWLE explained the design and thought process behind the five buildings and five townhouses that make up the complex.
