Construction is nearing completion on the second phase of Vantage, a two-tower residential complex at 33 Park View Avenue in Jersey City. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by Fisher Organization, the development features twin 44-story towers and will yield a total of 900 apartments. Phase two features 452 homes ranging from studios to two-bedroom units.
Construction has topped out on One East Harlem, a 19-story mixed-use building at 201 East 125th Street in Harlem. Designed by S9 Architecture, the reinforced concrete structure prominently rises above its surroundings and will yield over 420,000 square feet of newly built space. Work broke ground last summer and required the demolition of a couple low-rise structures occupying the site. Richman Group Development, Bridges Development Group, and Monadnock Development are the developers of the project, and received a mix of public and private funding from Citigroup, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and the New York City Housing Development Corporation.
A 1,045-unit housing complex known as Bronx Point is now recognized as the first and only affordable housing project to achieve WEDG certification. The rating system was founded by the Waterfront Alliance, an independent offshoot of The Municipal Art Society of New York, that establishes guidelines for ecologically friendly waterfront design and construction.
Exterior work is getting close to completion on 111 Varick Street, a topped-out, 27-story residential building in Hudson Square. Located at the northern corner of Varick Street and Broome Street near the entrance to the Holland Tunnel, the project is designed by S9 Architecture and developed by Kimmel 111, LLC with Madigan Development as the owner’s representative. CM & Associates is in charge of construction.
Developer GFP Real Estate recently filed zoning amendment applications with city planning commission to permit the enlargement of an existing arcade and office building in Lower Manhattan. Located at 100 Pearl Street, also known as 7 Hanover Square, scope of work includes an infill of the existing arcade with ground-floor retail and new lobby spaces.
