Updated renderings have been revealed for 475 Bay Street, a 12-story affordable housing property in Stapleton, Staten Island. Designed by GF55 Partners and developed by BFC Partners, the 250,000-square-foot structure will yield 269 units.
Atrium at Sumner is one of several new affordable housing projects to break ground in the outer boroughs this summer as part of a public-private collaboration between city agencies and for-profit developers. The forthcoming property is located on Marcus Garvey Boulevard between Park Avenue and Myrtle Avenue on NYCHA‘s Sumner Houses campus in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
The official groundbreaking ceremony for TF Cornerstone‘s two-towered Hunters Point South project in Long Island City will be held today. In addition to over 1,000 new apartments, the site will give rise to what will temporarily become the tallest skyscraper on Queens’ East River waterfront. Fresh renderings have also been released, revealing additional exterior details of the buildings as well as the landscaped greenery and waterfront esplanade. The buildings’ addresses are 52-03 and 52-41 Center Boulevard.
Construction has almost wrapped on 333 Lenox Road, in the Lefferts Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, and today we have a photo update on the project as well as a new rendering of what it will ultimately look like. The building is a joint venture between SelfHelp Community Services Inc and the Briarwood Organization. Upon its completion, the development will yield 54 units of residential housing for low income senior citizens.
Earlier this year, construction wrapped up on the first phase of Long Island City’s Hunters Point South mega-development, which includes two residential towers with a total of 925 affordable units, plus a 1,100-seat school and a waterfront park. The city is now moving forward to build the infrastructure needed for the project’s second phase, and Curbed reports excavation work is well underway. The second phase will include, but is not limited to, a 1,193-unit mixed-income residential building, which is to be developed by TF Cornerstone and Selfhelp Community Services. Thousands of additional residential units are also in the works, along with retail and community space. Thomas Balsley Associates, Weiss/Manfredi, and ARUP are designing the public park that will eventually line the waterfront. The park and infrastructure work is expected to be complete by 2018.
