Exterior work is continuing on The Walt Disney Company’s new 22-story headquarters at Four Hudson Square in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed by Silverstein Properties, the 338-foot-tall structure will yield 1.2 million square feet of office space, film and production studios, and ground-floor retail. Lendlease is the general contractor for the property, which is alternatively addressed as 137 Varick Street and occupies a full-block parcel bound by Vandam Street to the north, Spring Street to the south, Varick Street to the east, and Hudson Street to the west.

New Renderings Reveal Updated Design For Norman Foster’s Two World Trade Center, In Financial District

New renderings have been spotted for Two World Trade Center, the final component of the 16-acre World Trade Center complex at 200 Greenwich Street in the Financial District. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and developed by Silverstein Properties, the commercial supertall will rise from a foundation built in the early 2010s before work stalled on the initial iteration of the tower. The full-block parcel is bound by Greenwich Street to the west, Vesey Street to the north, Church Street to the east, and Fulton Street to the south. The site is currently being used as a secondary entrance to the PATH trains and subway lines and the Westfield World Trade Center mall within Santiago Calatrava Architects‘ Oculus, and an outdoor beer garden along Church Street surrounded by colorful commissioned murals on the corrugated metal and exposed ventilation ducts.

Façade installation has begun on Four Hudson Square, Disney’s rising 22-story New York headquarters at 137 Varick Street in Hudson Square. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed by Silverstein Properties, the 338-foot-tall structure will yield 1.2 million square feet of commercial space. The media giant purchased the rectangular full-block parcel from Trinity Church Real Estate for a total of $650 million, and Skanska was in charge of demolishing four old structures that once occupied the site. Lendlease is constructing the new headquarters, which is bound by Varick Street to the east, Spring Street to the south, Hudson Street to the west, and Vandam Street to the north.
