Façade Work Continues on 555 West 38th Street in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on 555 West 38th Street, a 570-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards. Developed by Rockrose and designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects with SLCE as the architect of record, the 52-story structure will add 598 rental units to this growing section of Midtown. The site is located along Eleventh Avenue between West 38th Street and West 39th Street, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.

115 East 55th Street Nears Pinnacle In Midtown East

For nearly the past year since YIMBY first revealed renderings of SLCE Architects’ 115 East 55th Street, construction progress remained below street level and tucked behind construction fences and machinery for a while. Now a revisit to the Midtown East site shows that the 185-foot-tall residential project has quickly sprung up and is getting close to topping out. Developed by Zeckendorf Development, the ground-up 18-story, 62-unit, 71,961-square-foot edifice is situated directly adjacent to the back eastern elevation of Norman Foster’s 47-story, 660,000-square-foot 425 Park Avenue.

Permits have been filed for a 23-story mixed-use building at 270 West 96th Street on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Located between West End Avenue and Broadway, the lot is one block north of the 96th Street subway station, serviced by the 1, 2, and 3 trains. Fetner Properties is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Façade Work Begins on 200 East 83rd Street’s Rising Superstructure on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is rising on 200 East 83rd Street, a 449-foot-tall residential tower from Robert A.M. Stern on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by Naftali Group and Rockefeller Group, the 243,128-square-foot development reinforced concrete structure will rise to a height of 35 stories and house 86 units spread over 205,877 square feet, for an average of 2,393 square feet apiece. SLCE Architects is the architect of record for the project, which is located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 83rd Street.

Construction Wrapping Up on Beckford House and Tower on the Upper East Side, Manhattan

Construction is now complete on Beckford House and Beckford Tower, a pair of completed residential buildings in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The 21-story, 215-foot-tall Beckford House at 301 East 81st Street (also addressed as 1562 Second Avenue) and the 31-story Beckford Tower at 301 East 80th Street are designed by Studio Sofield and SLCE Architects and developed by Icon Realty Management, with CM & Associates in charge of construction. The site is located along Second Avenue between East 80th and 81st Streets.

One Wall Street’s Residential Conversion and Addition Continues in the Financial District

Work is progressing on the residential conversion and retail addition on the 90-year-old One Wall Street in the Financial District. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Macklowe Properties, the projected $1.5 billion undertaking is poised to be the largest office-to-condominium conversion in New York City history. When complete, the 654-foot-tall property will yield a total of 566 residential units with sales handled and marketed by Compass, as well as a 44,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market and a Life Time fitness center on the lower levels.

Permits Filed for 305 First Avenue in Gramercy, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a ten-story mixed-use building at 305 First Avenue in Gramercy, Manhattan. Located at the intersection of East 18th Street and First Avenue, the corner lot is three blocks north of the First Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train. Minrav Development under the 305 First Avenue Owner LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications, after acquiring the site in early 2020.

Foundation Work Begins at 141 Willoughby Street in Downtown Brooklyn

Excavation is now nearly complete at 141 Willoughby Street, the site of a 24-story mixed-use building in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Savanna Real Estate, the property will yield office and retail space. SLCE is the executive architect on the project.

RAMSA’s 3041 Broadway Begins to Rise Above Street Level in Morningside Heights, Manhattan

Construction has reached street level at 3041 Broadway, a 42-story tower designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects in Morningside Heights. Alternately addressed as 100 Claremont Avenue, the 350,000-square-foot project is being developed by L&M Development Partners and Lendlease with SLCE Architects as the architect of record, and will eventually yield condominiums marketed by Lendlease and L+M, and institutional offices, faculty housing, and classrooms for the Union Theological Seminary. Beyer Blinder Belle is handling the renovations of Union Theological Seminary’s Hastings Hall, where students reside. The building is rising by the corner of Claremont Avenue and West 122nd Street with the use of air rights from the seminary, and is directly across from the Riverside Church.

Finishing Touches Underway on Vandewater at 543 West 122nd Street in Morningside Heights, Manhattan

Construction is now almost fully complete on Vandewater, a 385-foot-tall, 33-story residential tower at 543 West 122nd Street in Morningside Heights. Designed by INC Architecture & Design and developed by Savanna, with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc. as the landscape architect, the structure yields 183 condominiums with sales led by Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing. The property is bound by Broadway to the west, West 122nd Street to the south, West 123rd street to the north, and Amsterdam Avenue to the east.
