YIMBY Tours the Residential Conversion of One Wall Street, in Financial District

YIMBY went on a hard hat tour of One Wall Street, a historic, 51-story Art Deco tower designed by Ralph Walker and completed in 1931. Formerly the headquarters of the Bank of New York and Irving Trust Company, the Financial District icon is currently undergoing a $1.5 billion residential conversion and expansion. A five-story addition is underway and being constructed above the adjoining mid-century annex. SLCE Architects is serving the architect of record while Harry Macklowe of Macklowe Properties is the developer. CORE is handling sales and marketing of the planned 566 housing units.

11 Avenue C Reaches Street Level, in Alphabet City

Construction has reached street level at 11 Avenue C, aka 350 East Houston Street, a future ten-story mixed-use building designed by Rotwein+Blake Architects with SLCE as the architect of record. The structure will rise about 110 feet high and yield just under 50,000 square feet of space. Of this, 4,100 square feet will be dedicated to commercial use and 38,162 square feet to residential space divided among 45 apartments, averaging over 800 square feet apiece. The project is being developed by BLDG Management.

Permits Filed for 2330 Broadway on the Upper West Side, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for an 18-story senior living facility at 2330 Broadway on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. Located between West 84th Street and West 85th Street, the interior lot is one block south of the 86th Street subway station, serviced by the 1 train. As previously reported by YIMBY, the site is under development by Welltower, Inc. and is the second senior living property in New York City for the global health provider. Real estate investment firm Hines is also a co-developer.
