Nehalhumar Gandhi, doing business as a New Jersey-based LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, 67-key hotel at 646 Gerard Avenue, in the Concourse, located three blocks north of the 149 Street – Grand Concourse stop on the 2, 4, and 5 trains. The project will measure 18,556 square feet in total, and hotel rooms will average 277 square feet apiece. Guests will have access to traditional hotel amenities on the ground and cellar level, and they will also be conveniently located a few blocks south of Yankee Stadium. Flushing-based Michael Kang is the architect of record. A single-story commercial building was filed for demolition this past October.

Affordable housing may grow on two empty lots near the elevated subway tracks in Longwood, a neighborhood in the southeastern Bronx. Plans were filed yesterday to erect a seven-story apartment building at 917 Westchester Avenue and a six-story one at 940 Rogers Place, around the corner from the Intervale Avenue stop on the 2 and 5 trains.

Community Access has filed applications for a 14-story, 126-unit apartment building at 111 East 172nd Street, in Mount Eden, located a few blocks north of the 170th Street stops on the B, D, and 4 trains. The structure will measure 107,272 square feet in total, which means apartments will average 851 square feet apiece. Units will be rented at below-market rates, with some being designated for mental health and additions patients. Brooklyn-based Peter Woll is the architect of record. The block-thru site consists of a single-story building and a three-story townhouse, which first have to be demolished.
