Steiner Studios has partnered with Dattner Architects to complete a 500,000-square-foot productions studio at Bush Terminal in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The new facility will arrive as Steiner Studios’ second New York City outpost and its first in the “Made in New York Campus,” which is expected to open in 2021.
Last week, media-focused investment firm Great Point Capital Management signed on entertainment company Lionsgate as its anchor tenant for a new $100 million production-studio development in Yonkers. Lionsgate will also be an investor in the project that includes five studios and a back lot near the Yonkers downtown Metro-North train station. Also a partner in the joint venture is developer National Resources.
In January, the foundation was being poured at 333 Schermerhorn Street, the site of Steiner Studios’ 53-story, 581-unit mixed-use tower in Downtown Brooklyn; Brownstoner has the latest update, and it appears the tower portion is now rising and is already a few floors above the base podium. Dattner Architects and Goldstein Hill & West Architects are designing, and completion is expected in 2017.
