West 28th Street has been one of the hottest streets in Chelsea’s ongoing development boom for several years. With several buildings by Gene Kaufman already completed along the stretch, the former Flower District is about to see yet another new hotel open, this time, at 105 West 28th Street. The latest photos by JC_Heights show the tower has now passed the halfway point to its 35-story and 410-foot pinnacle.
New dormitories don’t often appear in Williamsburg, but back in May of 2016, YIMBY reported on new building filings for 292 North 8th Street, a substantial site that spans through the block to 7th Street. Today, we have the full reveal for the project, which is being designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects, and developed by Macro Sea and the Kamali Organization.
Last September, YIMBY reported on new building applications for 112 East 11th Street, in the heart of the East Village, which is being developed by the Lightstone Group. EVGrive posted a preliminary image for the site back in February, and now, we have the first full rendering for the project, which is being designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects.
Façade installation is now in the final stages on the 26-story, 249-key Crowne Plaza hotel under construction at 320 West 36th Street, in the Garment District section of Midtown. Progress on the structure can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the hotel measures 119,039 square feet and stands 246 feet to its roof, not including the bulkhead. A restaurant will be located on the ground and cellar levels, while hotel rooms will be located on the second through 26th floors. Raber Enterprises is the developer and Stonehill & Taylor Architects and Planners is behind the design. Opening can probably be expected next year.
JHG Holdings has acquired, for $50.4 million, the Parish of St. Vincent de Paul at 123 West 23rd Street and the four-story tenement buildings at 116-120 West 24th Street, in Chelsea. The developer also owns the four-story hotel at 131 West 23rd Street, The Real Deal reported. The assemblage’s footprint measures 17,968 square feet and plans are already on file for a 35-story residential-hotel project.
