Six-Unit Mixed-Use Building Filed For 41-14 Haight Street, Downtown Flushing

Tai Song Lin has filed applications for a five-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 41-14 Haight Street, in Downtown Flushing. The building will total 5,500 square feet, and 1,130 square feet is being allotted for community facility space. A health office and a child daycare are in store, according to the Schedule A. Chang Hwa Tan’s Tan Architect is designing, and an existing two-story home must first be demolished.


42-43 27th Street

Site Cleared For Six-Story, Eight-Unit Building At 42-43 27th Street, Long Island City

In December 2014, YIMBY brought you news of developer Xi Zhao’s planned six-story, eight-unit mixed-use building at 42-43 27th Street, in Long Island City, and now The Court Square Blog reports the site has been cleared of its single-story predecessor. Construction will likely begin soon on the 7,000 square-foot building, of which 1,450 square feet is being designated for retail. Tan Architect is designing, and the design has yet to be revealed.


90-05 56th Avenue

Nine-Unit Building To Replace Small Abode at 90-05 56th Avenue, Elmhurst

102-08 Holding Inc. has filed applications for a four-story, nine-unit residential building at 90-05 56th Avenue, in southern Elmhurst. The building will measure roughly 6,400 square feet, and an existing two-story abode must first be demolished. Chang Hwa Tan, of Tan Architect PC, is the architect of record.


63-33 Alderton Street

Two-Family Building Developments Replace Underutilized Lots in Rego Park, Laurelton

Two more applications have been filed that would replace another single-family structure in the neighborhood of Rego Park, and Laurelton, an even rarer vacant lot, in central and eastern Queens, respectively. The burgeoning demand for residential units makes it more attractive to redevelop lots that would otherwise remain single-family homes.

The property owner of the single-family home at 63-33 Alderton Street, in Rego Park, has filed applications for a two-story, two-family building measuring 2,405 square feet. The existing structure will be utilized and expanded upon during construction, and Chang Hwa Tan is designing.
