Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 2308 Andrews Avenue N in the University Heights neighborhood of The Bronx. The site is four blocks away from the Fordham Road subway station, serviced by the 4 trains, and four blocks further from an identically named station serviced by the D trains. Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 27 Buchanan Place, in The Bronx’s University Heights. The site is a block and a half away from the 183rd Street Subway Station, serviced by the 4 train, and seven blocks away from the 182-183rd Street Subway Station, serviced by the B and D trains.
After crews broke ground in September of 2015, foundation work has since been completed and steel beams are now rising for the nine-story, 136-unit affordable-supportive housing project at 233 Landing Road, in the West Bronx’s University Heights section. The latest building permits indicate the project, dubbed Landing Road Residence, will encompass 131,355 square feet. It will contain 135 below-market-rate rental apartments, ranging from studios to two-bedrooms, plus one for the superintendent. The facility will also contain a 200-bed homeless shelter, with social services included, for adults who are employed. The affordable and supportive housing components will have separate entrances and amenities. The Housing Development Fund Corporation (HDFC), partnered with various city and state agencies, is developing the project. Edelman Sultan Knox Wood Architects is behind the design. Completion is expected in 2017.
The city and a group of developers broke ground Monday on an 11-story affordable and supportive housing development in the University Heights section of the Bronx.
Midtown South-based Louise Paris Ltd. has filed applications for a four-story, 42,786-square-foot mixed-use building at 2429 Jerome Avenue, in University Heights, located directly below the Fordham Road stop on the 4 train. The structure would feature 7,640 square feet of ground-floor retail space, as well as a 24,956-square-foot school. The ground floor will host the school’s lobby, followed by classrooms on the second through fourth floors, and a playground on the rooftop. Mansukhbhai Patel’s New Jersey-based Vista Engineering Corp. is the applicant of record. An assemblage of five buildings – two three-story structures and two single-story buildings – at 2421-2431 Jerome Avenue must first be demolished.
