Checking In On New York City’s 2020 Skyline

YIMBY has brought you several composite renderings of what the skyline will look like over the next few years. Now we have a fresh image of what the city’s future holds, thanks to YIMBY Forums user Thomas Koloski, which illustrates the major changes soon coming to Jersey City, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. Most of the projects added to the image are either already under construction or imminently rising, and their collective impact on the cityscape will push the New York City skyline to new, Coruscantian heights.

Views Revealed From Top Of 69-Story Urban Ready Living Harborside Tower, Jersey City

Last week, YIMBY reported on the topping-out of the 69-story, 763-unit mixed-use tower under construction at 200 Greene Street, in Jersey City’s waterfront district, and now we can share photos of the view from the top of the 713-foot-tall tower. Dubbed URL Harborside, two more towers are planned, which will bring the site’s total number of apartments to 2,358. The first building will open for leasing at the end of 2016, according to developers Mack-Cali Realty Corporation and Ironstate Development Company.

First Of Three Urban Ready Living Harborside Towers Tops Out At 69 Stories, Jersey City

In 2013, YIMBY brought you news of the three-tower development URL Harborside planned at 200 Greene Street, on the Jersey City waterfront, and now the first tower has topped out at 69 stories, per Tectonic. The first tower will include 763 apartments and commercial space, but also a significant parking garage. The entire development will total 2,358 units, and Ironstate Development and Mack-Cali Realty Corporation are developing. Amsterdam-based Concrete is designing, and the first tower is expected to be complete in mid-2016.
