Penthouse Revealed At 505 West 19th Street, West Chelsea

Over the course of the project’s two-year evolution, YIMBY has chronicled the construction of 505 West 19th Street, in West Chelsea, which now hosts two conjoined buildings. The eastern component will contain 25 condos and two penthouses, while the western structure will have eight full-floor-plus units, as well as a duplex penthouse, which YIMBY can now reveal.


475 West 18th Street

SHoP Designing Wooden 10-Story Residential Building At 475 West 18th Street, West Chelsea

130-134 Holdings LLC, Spiritos Properties and Icor Associates are planning to develop a 10-story, 120-foot-tall residential building at 475 West 18th Street, in West Chelsea, according to the Wall Street Journal. The building — dubbed West 475 — would be built of just wood, and is being designed by SHoP Architects. Per Curbed, the building could begin construction in early 2016. The site also spans 130-134 10th Avenue, and three townhouses must first be demolished.



542 West 22nd Street

Demolition Set to Begin on 542 West 22nd Street, Future Hauser & Wirth Location

When it comes to sweeping and far-reaching change, few areas have transformed as rapidly as West Chelsea. But while condo-fication is normally associated with displacement of galleries, that is not the case here, and now demolition applications have been filed for an old building at 542 West 22nd Street, which will be cleared to make way for a new outpost by Hauser & Wirth.

Full Reveal for 527 West 27th Street, aka Jardim, Designed by Isay Weinfeld

YIMBY previously reported that construction began on the through-block project spanning from 527 West 27th Street to 520 West 28th Street back in January, and we followed up with a partial reveal from the construction documents later that month. Now we have the full renderings for the building, dubbed Jardim, which is being designed by Isay Weinfeld. Centaur Properties and Greyscale Development Group are developing the project, and Pizzarotti IBC is the builder.
