Construction is now underway in Downtown New Rochelle, where city planners aim to create a vibrant pedestrian plaza and retail corridor. Located along Anderson Street between North Avenue and LeCount Place, the one-way thoroughfare will debut as Andreson Plaza and represents roughly $4 million in public-private funding.
Joe Coffee is the newest addition to the Stella, a 28-story residential tower at 10 Lecount Place in downtown New Rochelle. The retail store is the brand’s premiere location in Westchester and represents a strong period of growth and expansion for Joe Coffee, which currently operates 24 brick-and-mortar stores in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
L&M Development Partners and Wilder Balter Partners Inc. have completed work on their $190 million project in downtown New Rochelle, called ‘Stella’. The new addition to the city at 10 LeCount Place stands as a 28-story mixed-use residential building. The property is designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and offers 380 homes, including studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. The Marketing Directors is the exclusive leasing and marketing firm for the development. The gross monthly rents for the 285 market rate residences start around $2,000 per month. Stella is built to Enterprise Green Communities efficiency standard, including Energy Star appliances, Zero-VOC interior paints, LED light fixtures, and water- conserving plumbing fixtures.
The Housing Action Council in New Rochelle is now accepting applications for 14 Lecount Place in the downtown neighborhood. Developed by Wilder Balter Partners and L+M Development Partners, the 27-story mixed-use new-construction building is expected to open this fall with 285 market-rate apartments and 95 affordable rental units. The 457,000-square-foot project is designed by Beyer Blinder Belle. Additional components include 6,200 square feet of retail space, parking, and residential amenities.
Affordable housing developer Wilder Balter recently purchased a historic YMCA building in Tarrytown. The 41,537-square-foot, four-story structure at 62 Main Street was originally constructed in 1928 and has had numerous additions since then. RM Friedland, which brokered the deal, announced the $6.45 million sale and the developer’s intention to preserve the masonry façade, while turning it into 109 affordable housing units and 100 parking spaces for local merchants.
