Two major developments in Mount Kisco and White Plains will soon begin construction following the approval of two major incentives packages from Westchester County’s Industrial Development Agency. Referred to simply as the IDA, the agency works to facilitate diversification and urbanization of the county through the construction of vibrant mixed-use developments.
The new Edenwald YMCA in The Bronx will officially move forward following full approval from the City Council, New York City Planning Commission, and the Department of Buildings. Located at 1250 East 229th Street, the development is expected to create over 100 temporary jobs in its construction phase, and another 100 permanent jobs once completed.
Permits have been filed for a three-story YMCA at 1250 East 229th Street, in Edenwald, The Bronx. The site is five blocks away from the Baychester Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. The non-profit New York City Economic Development Corporation is listed as behind the applications.
The New York City YMCA has begun the public approval process for a new facility planned in the Northeast Bronx. The project is located in the Edenwald neighborhood, and will be located at 1250 East 229th Street. This latest expansion is part of the organization’s ongoing growth alongside the La Central project, which YIMBY has previously reported on.
The team behind the La Central Development has closed a deal for financing towards the construction of their massive mixed-use project in the Melrose Community of the South Bronx. This is one of the largest mixed-income projects currently under construction in New York City. Once complete, the project will span 1.1 million square feet, with five buildings and 992 units entirely devoted to affordable housing.
