New plans for 310 East 86th Street will see the condominium project nearly double in size. Located in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Yorkville between First and Second Avenues, and only steps away from the Q and R trains at the 86th Street subway station, the site made news recently after Izaki Group Investments purchased and acquired three apartment buildings from Extell.
After nearly a century of development, the MTA debuted phase one of its Second Avenue expansion in 2017. The surrounding Upper East Side community has since experienced a flurry of new residential, retail, and commercial developments that now have access to a dedicated subway line. Developed by Icon Realty Management, 301 East 81st Street, also known as 1562 Second Avenue, is one of many forthcoming projects in the area. Today, YIMBY has new renderings for the tower, and the updated plans now include a two-story addition compared to the original illustrations.
Permits have been filed for a new 50-story tower at 1780 First Avenue, in Yorkville, Manhattan, adjacent to where the New York City Housing Authority‘s John Haynes Holmes Towers currently stand. Located at the corner of 1st Avenue and East 93rd Street, the two buildings presently on the site were built in 1968 and have 537 units across 25 floors with a gross square footage of 386,322. The nearest transit access is two city blocks north at the 96th Street – 2nd Avenue station, courtesy of the N and Q trains.
Full demolition permits have been filed for the six-story brick building at 1651 1st Avenue in Yorkville, Manhattan. The current 62-foot tall structure has been used as walkup housing since 1920, with 16 residential units and two units uses as commercial space on the ground level. It is unclear what plans are in store for the 2,200 square foot lot as no new building permits have been filed. David Rothstein of Extell is listed as the owner of the site.
Demolition permits have been filed for 1622-1632 York Avenue in Yorkville, Manhattan. The plans include the demolition of six adjacent four-story buildings to make way for a fourteen-story assisted living facility at the corner of East 86th Street. The Engel Burman Group is responsible for the applications.
