11 Avenue C Reaches Street Level, in Alphabet City

Construction has reached street level at 11 Avenue C, aka 350 East Houston Street, a future ten-story mixed-use building designed by Rotwein+Blake Architects with SLCE as the architect of record. The structure will rise about 110 feet high and yield just under 50,000 square feet of space. Of this, 4,100 square feet will be dedicated to commercial use and 38,162 square feet to residential space divided among 45 apartments, averaging over 800 square feet apiece. YIMBY Tours COOKFOX’s Conversion and Addition at 100 Vandam Street, in Hudson Square

YIMBY went on a hard hat tour of 100 Vandam Street, where a 131-year-old coal power plant is being converted to a new residential structure that will rise above the existing load-bearing masonry podium. The site is located in the booming Hudson Square neighborhood at the corner of Vandam Street and Greenwich Street. The construction project, which is being designed by COOKFOX and developed by Jeff Greene, will bring the total height of the new 25-story building to 330 feet.

New Design Revealed for 226-232 East Broadway, on the Lower East Side

Space 4 Architecture, aka S4Architecture, has released renderings showing a new design for 226-232 East Broadway on the Lower East Side. The original plans called for two residential towers that would rise with identical architectural languages and surround a landmarked pre-war structure at 228 East Broadway. Now the project shows only one modestly tall building rising to the east of the former nursing home. The Ascend Group is the developer of the site.
