The area near Fordham University in the Bronx is poised to get a little more market-rate housing. Plans were filed earlier today to build an eight-story apartment building at 2180 Arthur Avenue in Belmont, in the northwestern part of the borough.
An anonymous Brooklyn-based LLC has filed applications for two four-story, 10-unit residential buildings at 1030-1032 Revered James A. Polite Avenue, in Longwood. The structures will measure 7,590 square feet and 8,910 square feet, respectively. Across both, the residential units should average 663 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. There will be an outdoor recreational space behind each building. Mohammad R. Badaly’s Mount Vernon, N.Y.-based Badaly Architects is the architect of record. The 50-foot-wide plot is currently occupied by a two-and-a-half-story house. Demolition permits were filed earlier this month. The Intervale Avenue stop on the 2 and 5 trains is two blocks away.

Chelsea-based developer Kim Tasher has filed plans for a five-story residential and medical building at 1144 Evergreen Avenue, in the southeast Bronx neighborhood of Soundview.

The structure will measure 6,452 square feet, which means its residential units should average 645 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. There will be two to three per floor. Mount Vernon-based SJBP Consulting Engineers is the applicant of record. The 27-foot-wide, 2,673-square-foot property is currently vacant. The site is located eight blocks from the 167th Street on the 4 train.

The structure will encompass 12,927 square feet, and its residential units should average 687 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. Amenities will include off-street parking for eight cars, storage space for eight bikes, laundry facilities, and a 400-square-foot outdoor recreational area. Mohammad R.
