Demolition preparation at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East continues to make headway, and today, YIMBY has the first renderings of Foster + Partners Architects’ planned headquarters for JPMorgan Chase. The supertall is apparently set to stand 1,425 feet to its rooftop, which would make it the third-tallest building by roof height in New York, at least ranked among current buildings. A tipster sent YIMBY images of the model for the project, alongside a rendering of what could be the final design for the highly anticipated supertall. Adamson Associates is listed as the architect of record.

YIMBY recently went on a hard hat tour to take in the views from 200 Amsterdam Avenue, the Upper West Side‘s tallest building. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and developed by SJP Properties, the 668-foot-tall residential skyscraper is topped out and is awaiting the completion of its distinctive crown. CetraRuddy is the lead interior designer for the 283,000-square-foot project.

YIMBY recently went on a hard-hat tour of Jeanne Gang’s 620-foot-tall, 57-story skyscraper at 11 Hoyt Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The wavy, rippling precast façade has reached the flat roof parapet, while work on the podium and lower floors is headed toward completion. Tishman Speyer is the developer and Hill West is the architect of record for the Studio Gang-designed residential project. Edmund Hollander of Hollander Design is in charge of landscaping for the outdoor green space above the motor courtyard and podium section.

270 Park Avenue’s Shrouded Demolition Making Progress in Midtown East

Work to prepare 270 Park Avenue for its demolition is continuing in Midtown East. Since YIMBY’s last update in late July, more scaffolding and netting have been installed on the lower section of the Modernist-style skyscraper. JPMorgan Chase is the developer of the project to tear down the 1.5-million-square-foot, 52-story tower and replace it with a 57-story supertall designed by Foster + Partners Architects, with Adamson Associates as the architect of record.
