The Spiral’s Glass Façade Nears Completion at 66 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Façade work is coming to a close on The Spiral, a 66-story commercial supertall at 66 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 1,041-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 2.85 million square feet of office space and is expected to cost nearly $3.7 billion. Turner Construction Company is the general contractor, Banker Steel provided the steel work, and Permasteelisa is serving as the contractor for the glass enclosure for The Spiral, which occupies a full city block between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues and 34th and 35th Streets.

270 Park Avenue’s Steel Superstructure Approaches First Setback in Midtown East, Manhattan

Construction is rising toward the first setback on 270 Park Avenue, the 60-story supertall headquarters for JPMorgan Chase in Midtown East. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 1,388-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 2.5 million square feet of office space and will set a record as the tallest New York building to be powered by hydroelectric energy. The steel is being fabricated by Banker Steel and assembled on site by NYC Constructors LLC over a giant full-block parcel bound by Park Avenue to the east, Madison Avenue to the west, East 47th Street to the south, and East 48th Street to the north.

300 West 30th Street Wraps Up Construction in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is finishing up on 300 West 30th Street, a 16-story residential building in Chelsea. Designed by Studio C Architects and developed by Hiwin USA, which purchased the property for $27.5 million from Salt Equities in May 2018, the structure will yield 69 units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, as well as ground-floor retail space. Efin Management Corporation is the general manager of the project, which is located at the corner of West 30th Street and Eighth Avenue, a short walk from Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, and Moynihan Train Hall. Workshop/APD is the interior designer and Corcoran New Development is handling sales and marketing.

Façade work is nearing completion on Two Manhattan West, a 58-story commercial skyscraper in the Manhattan West master plan in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield, the 935-foot-tall tower will yield 2 million square feet of office space and is engineered to achieve LEED Gold Certification. W&W Glass is the facade contractor and AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of West 31st Street and Ninth Avenue, directly to the south of its taller fraternal twin, One Manhattan West. YIMBY last announced that Cravath, Swaine & Moore has signed on as the flagship tenant for the building.
