Renovation work and construction continue on PENN 2, a 31-story commercial tower at Two Penn Plaza in Midtown. Designed by MdeAS Architects and developed by Vornado Realty Trust, the project involves the interior overhaul and re-cladding of the 412-foot-tall, 1.61 million-square-foot structure, as well as the construction of a multi-story cantilevering addition. PENN 2 is one component in the Penn District revitalization scheme that calls for the erection and redevelopment of several buildings surrounding Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. Turner Construction Company is the general contractor for the property, which is located along Seventh Avenue between West 31st and 33rd Streets.

Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by Aview Equities and Hello Living, the 189-foot-tall structure will yield 100 hotel rooms and a ground-floor beer garden. The property is located between Nevins Street to the east, Grove Place to the north, and Hanover Place to the west.

Construction has topped out on 72 York Street, an 11-story residential building in Jersey City‘s Paulus Hook Historic District. Designed by MVMK, the structure will yield 14 condominiums ranging from 800-square-foot one-bedroom units to 2,100-square-foot three-bedroom homes, as well as 880 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Residential amenities include private storage space for each unit. The property is located by the corner of York and Greene Streets, directly to the east of Jersey City’s main post office.
